By accessing or using the MakeCV platform ("Service"), you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

MakeCV provides a cloud-based resume building platform that includes:

• AI-powered resume writing assistance and content suggestions
• ATS (Applicant Tracking System) optimization and keyword matching
• Professional resume templates and formatting tools
• CV upload and parsing from PDF/DOCX formats
• Job description analysis and tailored resume recommendations
• Export features including PDF download

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of Services.

To access most features of MakeCV, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at security@makecv.online
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Not share your account with or transfer it to any other person
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits or bans

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed per our Privacy Policy.

You agree to use MakeCV only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or violates third-party rights
• Use the service to create resumes containing false credentials, fake degrees, or fabricated work experience
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the platform
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to the Service
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any other malicious or destructive code
• Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written permission

MakeCV offers both free and paid subscription plans.

Free Plan

Our free plan is available indefinitely and includes access to core resume building features with certain limits on AI usage and template access.

Paid Plans

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
• All payments are processed securely via Stripe
• Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by region due to taxes
• Your subscription auto-renews unless cancelled before the renewal date

Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable. To request a refund, contact billing@makecv.online.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle — there are no prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or submit to MakeCV ("Your Content"). By using our Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Our Platform

All software, design, branding, templates, and technology constituting the MakeCV platform are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our platform without our prior written consent.

Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We specifically disclaim all warranties including:

• Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• That the Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
• That the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• That AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose
• That using our ATS optimization will guarantee job interview success

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MAKECV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or employment opportunities
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Statements or conduct of any third party on or via the Service
• Any other matter relating to the Service

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time:

• By you: Delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account at any time
• By us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if we believe you have violated these Terms, without prior notice in cases of serious violations

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections covering Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law will survive termination.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which MakeCV is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of a mutually agreed arbitration body.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
